Shankar is currently considered one of the most talented director in the Cine Industry in India. All the films directed by him were super mega hits and each of them is breaking the records. Bagyaraj is multi faceted film personality he is a director, actor, screenplay & dialogue writer and a producer. He started his career as an assistant to director G.Ramakrishnan and then to Barathirajaa. He wrote the dialogue for Kizhake Pogum rayil (1978). K.Balachandar graduated to movies from amateur drama.He got a break in films as a script writer for the movie Deivathai (1964), he made his directorial debut in 1965. His first movie Neerkumizhi was based on one of his successful plays. He founded his own concern Kalakendra and produced a string of successful movies. His films are set in contemporary times, his early films retained some features of the stage. He used outdoor locales effectively in his later works. He started handling political issues with his Achamillai...Achamiilai (1984). He has directed around seventy movies, though most of them in Tamil, he has directed movies in Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. He has introduced a number of artistes who later went on to make their mark in filmdom.They include RajiniKanth and Sujatha. He has won a number of awards. He was awarded the Padma Shri award by the Government of India in 1987. Four of his films Iru kodugal, Aboorva Ragangal, Thaneer...Thaneer and Achamillai...Achamillai won awards from the Government of India as best regional films. Now he is directing various TV Serials.

Balu Mahendra is a cinematography graduate and a gold medallist from the Film and Television
Institute of India in Pune. He started his film career as a cameraman for the Malayalam film Nellu in 1974 which got him the best cinematographer award from the Government of India. He has been chosen the best cinematographer for as many as ten films. His first film as a director was
Kokila (Kannada,1976), which earned him a National Award. Azhiyatha Kolanagl (1979) was his first directorial venture in Tamil. He is one of the few film makers in Tamil who can tell a story visually. He writes the script for his films, handles the camera and edits the film himself, thus retaining a firm control over his films.

S.Balachandar's career in films, as producer, director, music director and actor is overshadowed by his image as a Veena mastero. He made his debut in films, as a child actor. His first film was Sita Kalyanam (1933), he enacted child roles in a number of films. At 21, he played the role of twins in the film Idhu Nijama (1948) for which he also composed the music. He made his debut as a director in the film En Kanavar (1948). The influence of Western movies in his work is very evident his film Avana Ivan ? (1962), was based on George Steven's A Place In The Sun. The music he scored for films also showed heavy western influences. It was a blend of musical styles: jazz, Latin American, Western and Indian classical music. In the 1960s he began producing films under the banner S.B.Creations and specialised in thrillers and suspense stories.

Bhimsing started his film career as an assistant editor with the film making duo Krishnan-Panju, in the late forties. Ammaiyappan (1954), was his first movie as a director. This movie established his place as a director. In his work he never tried to say anything contrary to the prevalent beliefs and traditions of his audience. Durai started his film career as an assistant to director Yoganand and later he worked as an assistant to director G.V.Aiyer in the latter's award winning film Hamsageetha (Kannada, 1975). Avalum Penthane was his first film as a director. This film with a an unsual theme and structure established him as a director. His film mainly dealt with social issues. A.P.Nagarajan started his film career as a dialogue writer for Nalvar (1953), in which he also acted. He founded a production with actor V.K.Ramasamy and made Nalla Idathu Sambandham

Neelakantan graduated to movies from stage play. His stage play Nam Iruvar was brought by movie
mogul A.V.Meyyappa chettiar and made into a film in 1947. Then he wrote the dialogues for films like Vedala Ulagam (1948). The first film he directed was Oru Iravu (1951), the dialogue for which was written by C.N.Annadurai. Two films that made him very famous are ALS productions Ambikapadi (1957) and Thirudathe (1961).
